Women, Jews, and Moors in Venetian Art
Venice was one of the most cosmopolitan and diverse cities on the Italian Peninsula during the Early Modern period. This talk considers how women, Jews, and Moors lived in Venice in the Renaissance and how their presence helped shape the art and architecture of the city. Dr. Fenichel looks at depictions that represent these groups in the works of Titian, Carpaccio, Bellini, and others.
