Unveiling of the Hall of Maps Room and the New Titian Room
October 14, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Members are invited to the Uffizi in Florence to attend unveiling of the The Hall of Maps Room. It is next to the Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci rooms. It was established by Francesco I and was one of the first rooms in the Uffizi. It contains two large, meticulously-detailed frescoes of Tuscany painted in the late 1500s and its ceiling consists of several panels depicting mythological scenes and other themes, painted by Zocchi. This room has been closed to the public for decades and will be reopened on October 14th with a private members dinner to follow in Florence, Italy.
For those who will not be in Florence: Simulcast of the Unveiling of the Hall of Maps and the new Titian Room will take place at Arturo’s restaurant. Click here to view event.
