“Neptune Fountain” in the Boboli Gardens!
The Neptune Fountain, Boboli Gardens is our latest community restoration
project. Each year over a million visitors admire this sculpture by Stoldo
Lorenzi of Neptune stopped in action of thrusting his trident, created in 1565
for the Cosimo I De Medici.
The fountain is in the basin of Neptune. As you can see the fountain is in
desperate need of restoration, and we are in the midst of an active drive to
raise funds to have the sculpture brought back to a stable and aesthetically
pleasing state.
4 Leonardo donors are needed along with our Friends of the Uffizi
Community to restore the fountain.
Special thanks to Joseph C. Raskauskas, Esq. for being the Neptune
Fountain’s first Leonardo donor.
