Chantecler was created on Capri, the Blue Island with an old-world charm. The jewelry has been worn by celebrities, sovereigns and the international jet set.
On most weeknight evenings, designer storefronts are dark on the iconic Worth Avenue in the heart of Palm Beach. The action is solely focused on the well-known eating establishments such as Bice and Ta-boo’ Restaurant, where you can dine by candlelight in the warmth of the South Florida atmosphere as you gaze down the Maserati and Jaquar-lined avenue.
However, on Thursday evening, February 26, 2015, Worth Avenue seemed to come alive with a different sort of excitement. Palm Beach socialites, music lovers, jewelry collectors, curious onlookers and a professional crowd came out to enjoy an ‘Evening To Celebrate Capri.’ Hamilton Jewelers, located in the middle of Worth Avenue, extended an invitation to preview and shop the newest exclusive collection that they will be featuring. Chantecler is a brand that dictates a celebrity following. The brand originated on the Blue Island of Capri in 1947 and has fascinated the great names of the international jet set, famous film stars, as well as poets, sovereigns, writers and singers. Jackie Onassis, Audrey Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Maria Callas, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Liz Taylor and Grace Kelly all wore the jewelry that caters to many a beautiful woman. Mr. Chantecler dedicated his very first Bell Jewel to Countess Edda Ciano who was a dear friend of his. There is much to be said for a woman wearing Chantecler jewels. Each piece is exceptionally designed with that old-world artisan craftsmanship. As the family points out, “”We strive for our jewels to reflect timeless, yet modern beauty. We are children of Capri and have been lucky enough to grow up within a family that has made aesthetic sense a value, allowing us to succeed in fulfilling this very objective. Thanks to the craftsmanship secrets handed down from our father and safeguarded with pride, our values are mirrored in each Chantecler creation: jewels designed to evoke passion, joyfulness and infinite ‘joie de vivre’ from the first time they are worn and all the times to follow.”
Not only did Hamilton Jewelers introduce some of their finest clientele to this distinct brand which creates a mesmerizing magic, but the guests on this particular evening enjoyed champagne and cocktails while feasting on Pancetta Wrapped Scallops, Warm Risotto Balls, Tartar of Black Angus Buffalo, Crisp Zucchini Blossom Stuffed with Anchovy, Ricotta and Lemon, Homemade Gelato and much more.
While walking within the store and admiring Chantecler bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces under the glass, women enjoyed being serenaded by one of the most talented tenors of all time, Franco Corso. In line with the Italian theme of the evening, Corso passionately gave guests a unique blend of pop Italian and American operatic style.
The event brought a huge turnout and for all purchases made over the course of the evening, a portion of the proceeds were donated to the ‘Friends of the Uffizi Gallery.’ The main goal of this non-profit organization is to restore and maintain some of the greatest works of art in Western culture at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. The organization was founded back in 2006 in Palm Beach and the members have succeeded in restoring over 30 priceless artworks and they continue to made great strides in the restoration process.
There is nothing quite like a gift from Hamilton Jewelers. The Worth Avenue store has taken on a historic appeal in the area, and, with the arrival of the Italian jewelry from Chantecler, exclusively to be sold by Hamilton, the retailer will dictate an international following from the rich and famous while satisfying the desires of their day to day custom.
